The trek starts from Pokhara and follows the trail through Ulleri, Ghorepani, Poon Hill and Tadapani before reaching Chhomrong and the Modi Khola valley. The landscape changes from green forests and terraced hillsides to narrow mountain valleys and rocky trails as you move toward Machhapuchhre Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp. After enjoying the mountain views from the sanctuary, the route descends toward Jhinu Danda and returns to Pokhara.
Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and begin walking through small villages, terraced fields and forested trails. The route gradually climbs toward Tikhedhunga or Ulleri, where you spend the night.
The trail climbs through rhododendron forest and the famous stone steps above Ulleri. After a steady uphill walk, you reach Ghorepani, a popular mountain village with views toward the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.
Start early for the walk to Poon Hill to watch the sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After returning to Ghorepani for breakfast, continue through forested trails toward Tadapani.
The trail descends through forest before climbing again toward Chhomrong. From the village, continue down toward the Modi Khola valley and walk through forest to Sinuwa.
The trail follows the Modi Khola valley through bamboo and rhododendron forest. The valley becomes narrower as you pass Bamboo and Dovan before continuing uphill to Deurali.
This is the main day of the trek. The trail gradually leaves the forest behind and enters the high mountain landscape. Continue to Machhapuchhre Base Camp before making the final climb into the Annapurna Sanctuary and reaching Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 m.
Wake up to views of the surrounding peaks before beginning the long descent from the sanctuary. Follow the Modi Khola valley back through Deurali and Dovan toward Bamboo.
Continue downhill through the forest and pass Chhomrong before reaching Jhinu Danda. If conditions and time allow, you can visit the natural hot springs near the village.
Complete the final section of the trail toward the roadhead and drive back to Pokhara. The trek ends with the return to the lakeside city.
